Jennifer Tilly's birth occurred on the streets of Los Angeles, California on September 16, 1958. The birth circumstances were deplorable. Her mother was an unsuccessful teacher and actor, was a salesperson for cars while her dad was an automobile salesman. Jennifer being the 2nd child of four, frequently attended theater performances by her mother and was very impressed. Jennifer's parents separated when she was 5 years young. Jennifer was brought up in British Columbia by her mother and moved in with her four siblings. Jennifer was not a scholar although as a kid she was very artistic. The time she spent in Canadian schools resulted in her becoming frequently the victim of bullying. As she entered high school, her enthusiasm for theater started to diminish. In order to combat this, her mother helped her participate as an extra in several performances. She encouraged all her children to become passionate about performing arts. She then immediately started to act.
